Crucial Time of Life

Right now I am facing one of the most crucial points of time in life. I am a graduate student research assistant at Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore center pursuing my MS(Library and Information Science), 2nd year. It has been a long cherished dream of mine to do my studies abroad and to achieve success in my life. However, I was never a very extra ordinary student at school or at college. I was always an average student getting decent marks in most of my exams. So, grabbing a golden opportunity to study in Indian Statistical Institute, which is considered as one of the best elite research institutes in India was a dream come true.

But as they say human beings by nature are greedy. The day I got the admission letter of ISI into my hands, next question came to my mind.....what next ??? After joining ISI, I came to know how different life can be and there are ways to achieve success in life, if you work hard and smart.

With the help of my fellow classmate Shion, I got to know that a Phd degree from a renowned American institute can be a very good step to enhance my career prospects. Shion was very enthusiastic about his ambition to grab a phd admission abroad, and his enthusiasm gave me the significant boost to think in the same direction.

Now , since the application season is near, I have to give my TOEFL and GRE
exams, which are on 18th and 26th of this month(October), I am preparing for them. I hope, I get good scores in these exams so that my application becomes stronger. I am feeling really nervous as to what would be the outcome...the only thing which I know is I am trying.

  4. Success doesn't only come by studying in great institutes or by being good student. It comes when you're satisfied with what you're doing and the people around you are happy with it.

No matter what you do, how hard you try, at the end only a small feeling of satisfaction helps a lot..

Remember- being on top give a very good view.. but its always lonely up there...

  5. I very well know that success does not come only by studying in great institutions or by being extra-ordinary in studies. However, each one of us have certain desires in life. We have certain goals, dreams and ambitions and we want to achieve those. As you know that the world is excessively competitive and each moment you have to prove yourself not only to you, but to the people around you, your peers, your critics, your parents and to a lot of people. It is very philosophical to say that success is achieved when you are satisfied yourself and people around you are happy with it but there are numerous circumstances when you are satisfied with your achievements but people around you ask for more and they are none other than people who are absolutely close to you. They do not respect what you have gained and they want more, the society wants more proofs of your caliber and sometimes your idea of achievement just does not match with the idea of achievement of others and you have to give the proof to them just to shut their mouth.

I don't know about you but to me unless I succeed, I do not get satisfaction, no matter how hard I worked, if I don't achieve what I wanted I am not at all satisfied.

Just for the fear of being alone at the top, if people stop working for what they dream about, it would be really ridiculous.

You, me and every body....we all want success in some or the other way. May be the ways to achieve what we want are different but we all strive for it and let me know about a person who does not want to study in premier institutes...you have also studied in Symbiosis which is very well known...so when I got the opportunity I also grabbed it.There's nothing wrong in it and seeking success is also not wrong in any way. I am just doing what I want from my life...I do not want to repent my entire life about the things which I could have done but did not do...simple !!!
